My amma/grandma had the most beautiful, longest, thickest hair with hints of silver touches. Carefully and painstakingly, using the best homemade shampoos, she air dried her hair on the front porch. Combing and detangling her hair was so pleasant and soothing. It was just so remarkable how her hair touched the top of the knee.
