May through July are some of my most emotional months. There’s just so much going on. In those few months are my kids’ bdays, my closest friend’s bday, my cousin’s bday, and, of course, Mothers Day….

BROWN BUTTER PUMPKIN CAKE with CARDAMOM AND SAFFRON
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
There are a couple of reasons I am super hyped for this post.
One: Cardamom and Saffron, a match made in food world, is not only a favorite of mine but also of many. Isn’t there something great about it?. Close your eyes and think of those two spices. The warmth and the sweetness just engulfs you.

PISTACHIO BUTTER COOKIES WITH WALNUTS
Every Christmas was very special as a kid. Dad made it quite memorable for me. It was the festive season, and he made sure it was remembered fondly.
There is a bakery in Bangalore(India), a very famous one, NILGIRIS. They had/have a Christmas Cake Show which showcases beautiful pieces of art which were huge: the TAJ MAHAL, Titanic, Barbie dolls, castles, chariots, sports players, completely made of cake. The cake artists took weeks to mold and remold. There were rows and rows of exhibits. Kids gaped at those wonders and almost wanted to touch it.

FIGS-CHIA AND HAZELNUT COOKIES (Gluten free)
All last weekend I craved for cookies, not any cookie but a cookie which was different. As far as my cookie craving went, it had to have figs(I had em’ sitting in my pantry for days staring at me), had to have hazelnut spread and should be great to pack as a gift.
I’ve wanted to make these for months now. The time was right, I had a few hours to myself, the first box of cookies that I made to give friends are here.

BEET MASCARPONE COOKIES
Teen(running down, composed, soft yet strong tone)-“Mom, he tore the cover of my favorite book.”
8 yr old(following the teen, high pitched and talking fast)- “Mom it was an accident!”
Me(cooking in the kitchen, I want to be left alone. In a slow tone)- “Tell me, what do you want me to do?”
Teen(still composed)- “Give him a thinking time.”
Me(sighing)..”I just want to get my dinner ready, and I’ll deal with this later”.
Teen(disappointed and irritated)- “Not fair mom…” and goes away.

SPICED WALNUTS with Balsamic and Curry Powder
Happy Monday Friends. How was your weekend?
Our weekend just flew by with the realization that there’s only two more weeks of summer vacation. We are trying to fit in dinners with friends, cooking workshops and a lot of movies in between.
The boys seem like they are in no rush to start their routine. I can say they’ve having fun.
My teen has learnt how to make lunch to survive at least. He made some balsamic noodles and they were good, maybe a bit too strong for my taste, but he loved it.

TRIPLE CHOCOLATE COOKIES
Cocoa, chocolate chips, chocolate covered almonds and coffee beans. Cookies.
We adore them. It’s the BEST!- I’ve heard( not too humble huh..). I can’t restrict myself in calling them the best.
If there’s one thing kids ask(almost demand) when they come to our place, are these cookies. Now coming to think of it, I’m not too sure it’s just them asking or one chocoholic teen who makes them ask…

CONDENSED Milk Cookies – a simple 5 ingredient eggless cookie
“C is for cookie and cookie is for me!”- Cookie Monster
Hope you had fun with fireworks and food!!
As far as making cookies go, I am ready for them any time of the day. Maybe I was meant to be a bakers daughter. I can eat them anytime and I can bake them anytime. They have become my obsession. I also want to do a weekly dedication to cookies from around the world. Ain’t that a fun idea?
I have loyalties towards my cookies, I hope that there is an unsaid limit to the number of cookies a food blogger can post.
