Do you bookmark and pin a lot of recipes to try?
A few days ago, I saw an Indonesian Melon drink posted by the very talented Lorraine from Not Quite Nigella.  It looked so fancy, simple and so different, I couldn’t wait to make my version and  it went right on top of my ‘to-make’ list.  I am sure most of you know her by now, if not please do check her out, you will love her.  I am always amazed at how much great food she puts out on her blog.  Apart from her fabulous food, I admire her sense of humor and she is such wonderful person.
I am a big fan of fancy looking food, which requires less fussing around and this cocktail/dessert  is just that. So here is an inspired float.  Simple, stunning and bombdiggity, if I may say so myself:).
I used a bigger lemon zester to make thin noodles, you can check the video link I’ve attached for Lorraine’s blog to see how she creates the noodles. Â A spiralizer will work amazing too.
The melon is quite subtle, sweet, quite refreshing and juicy. Â The berry sorbet gives it the tartness like lemon to green juice or what salt does to cakes and cookies.
I am sure this one is going to make appearances in our parties for a while. Â Hope you get to try it out.
- ½ Cantaloupe
- ½ Honeydew Melon
- Blueberry Sorbet or Any tart berry sorbet
- Berry flavored Sparkling Cider
- Prosecco
- First scoop the seeds out and extract the juice from it with the use of a strainer. Use a lemon zester or if you have a spiralizer, even better to make noodles out of the melon and cantaloupe. Put everything in the juice.
- Add the ¼ cup of the juice and some noodles in a glass and top with a scoop berry sorbet.
- Serve it either with some Sparkling cider or Prosecco. Both are fabulous.
Happy Valentines and Cheers to a beautiful weekend.
Love,
Asha

So beautiful Ash!! And thank you for the super sweet shout out too. I’m so glad that it works with a large lemon zester, mine was very small and didn’t quite do the job. Do you mind if I share this on my facebook page lovely? xxx

Just beautiful, Ash! As always your styling and photography inspires. I love everything berries, citrus and melon, and always have Prosecco on hand (for such emergencies), so I cannot wait to try your version of this splendid sip. Thank you for sharing and I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day weekend! xo

This sounds so yummy! We’re both not much of a drinker ourselves, but we’d definitely appreciate a fabulous drink like that one! Cider is amazing, and instead of Prosecco (which isn’t available here) we’ll add moschofilero which is a white wine with a fruity undertone. If you never tried it before, get a bottle if it’s available in SF, you’ll really enjoy it!:)
Thank you for the fantastic idea dear Ash!
