After I posted this picture of Instagram, I got so many requests for a detailed recipe for this. And you know that another curry recipe was coming, right? Looks like you guys love curries, Chickpea with Spinach Curry, I knew I had to keep these curry recipes coming. There’s my Quick 20 minute Thai Green Curry, my Mixed Daal with Vegetables and even my favorite of the blog Navratan Korma. Now finally – this Fried Cauliflower Potato Curry in Peanut Sesame Paste. SO GOOD! This is such a different, amazing, mouthwatering and comforting curry that you’ll be making it over and over again.
Some parts of India use peanuts and sesame in their curries, and that’s where I got the inspiration from. I’ve been making this curry for couple of years now, and I’m surprised I haven’t added it on my blog. The recipe was in my folder for at least three years. Yes, that’s how long I’ve been sitting on this. Now I’m really happy that I shared, especially with the lock down, best to use basic pantry ingredients. And this Curry tastes so rich, so comforting. Amazed!
This is quite an authentic dish in certain communities. The popular Aloo Gobi(Cauliflower Potato Curry) might have been inspired from this dish which goes back a long way. Think creamy, deliciously seasoned and loaded with so much flavor.
Cauliflower Potato Curry in Peanut Sesame Sauce
I fry and cook the cauliflower and potatoes partially first in oil, until the potatoes start to crisp up. It adds such a beautiful texture to the dish which I am in love with. The cauliflower and potatoes soak the rich sauce right up and are perfect.
This is delicious served alongside jeera rice, naan or any other flat bread to swipe up extra rich sauce.
I hope you try this Cauliflower Potato Curry and really enjoy it. Let me know – what’s your favourite curry? Eat up and enjoy friends!

Hi, trying this today. could you specify if the peanuts are raw or roasted? 🙂 and does it matter if the skins are still on the potato/peanuts?

Roasted for sure.
