These are my most used, loved and things I legit can’t live without. I love my kitchen gadgets as must as the next person, I’ve done my experimenting and these are my favorites. I also DO NOT like to over crowd my kitchen with gadgets. I like to simplify and keep the most important and in my opinion the “must haves”. The best kitchen tools don’t have to be overpriced too. I made sure to research, not over spend and over indulge.
I am sharing here a list of 20 BEST MUST have kitchen gadgets that I think you’ll love. Not only are these Amazon kitchen finds affordable (read: tons of under $25 finds on this list!) but we think that they will soon find a place on your own kitchen must haves list! I will most probably be making another favorites with knives and all.

Multi Blade Vegetable Slicer
The blades are sharp. They do a fantastic job of shredding cabbage, for which I use it the most. Be super careful while slicing, it is sharp. I have gifted this and it’s been loved by many. It is the most solid mandolin I’ve used in 20+ yrs.

Non Stick Tawa/ Griddle
This needs no introduction on my page. The most requested of all must be this tava. Every single time I share my dosa making, I get a handful asking me where I got it from. Here it is. This is a large tava to make extra large dosa’s in. It works perfectly. It’s got a good weight to it and has served me well for few years now. Make sure to clean it well without being too abrasive. Make your dosa, crepes, mini pancakes, JUST PERFECT. This is a must in every kitchen.

Air Fryer
If you know me I am a snob of large bulky appliances and keep it to the minimal. I AM A COVERT with this one though. I cannot live without my airfryer. This is large enough and not too huge either. I know I might sound dramatic, but I can’t live without it. I use it practically for everything but making coffee:). You toast bread, make eggs, grill chicken, fish, potatoes, make cauliflower curry in it. The ways to use this are endless. I prefer this kind of airfryer to the one which is like an oven. Ninja hasn’t paid me to say this, but I love my ninja. Have used it for 4 yrs now and it’s still going strong.

Reusable Silicone Air Fryer Liners
I’m going to piggy back on the last gadget, the air fryer. I have to agree that cleaning can be a messy job when it comes to the airfryer. I have found that using these silicone liners make the cleaning 80% easier. The solid gunk sticks to this and it is a cinch to scrub off. I use this one, you can definitely select the size according to your air fryer.

Magic Bullet Blender
Now, this is popular for good reason. When my son went off to college, he asked me what to get and this is what I suggested and he loves it. I make green chutneys, smoothies and taking it to go, dressings, lassis, protein shakes and many more. It is not something I’ll grind coconut or heavy duty spices in, but for most others, this is super convenient to have.

Immersion Blender
For the price of a good immersion blender, you get three other attachments. It’s sturdy, it doesn’t take a lot of shelf space and works amazing. I got this one for the immersion blender. Soups, daals, grinding spinach, blending smoothies, it is a must have in every kitchen. I have used mine for 10 yrs now and it’s still going strong. You can use it when the liquid is hot and blend in the pot, so convenient.

Reusable Stainless Steel Metal Straws
Great value for an assortment of straws, and the brushes are great for other things too. Do you ever feel like you drink more water with a straw in comparison to straight up from a glass? I definitely do. I usually have some lemon or ACV every morning and this helps. Of course it’s environmentally safe. I have tried bamboo ones and they tend to break away fast. The glass straws are great, but not good with kids. This is a great option. When you get this, get the jumbo ones too, I love them for smoothies.

Jumbo Spatula
You might think you don’t need it, but trust me, once you have this you will wonder how you lived without it:). I’ve been asked multiple times where I got mine from, and here it is. This is so good for pancake, dosa, flatbread, patties, anything that is messy to flip. This does the job so well. My son loves his pancakes, but not the best at flipping, our extra large spatula comes to the rescue. I make huge dosas, and this flips the dosa so beautifully. I think it’s one of my most used spatulas.

Pasta and Rice Strainer
I mainly use it for pasta and rice. We cook our rice and strain the water and this is super helpful. You can use it for vegetables too. When straining the rice, be sure not to topple it fully. Honestly depending on the pot you’re using this on its own is not always the quickest to get on. However once connected it makes draining noodles 10x quicker. Makes clean up after cooking way easier too! It’s used for small batch cooking.

Box Grater
I got this to use for my cooking videos. It looks chic to begin with. After using it for the videos, I realized how sturdy it is. It’s great because of all the different sides and all the different sizes for grating. It makes grating even a lot of cheese or veggies at one time very easy. It’s also easy to clean. It has a non-slip ring along the bottom that’s easy to remove for cleaning. The value is good. I’m glad I got this. It was a real upgrade from what I had been using.

Oil Sprayer
I would buy expensive oil sprays until I got this one. It does come out in a stream, but it’s pretty light and it’s a good thing that it’s controlled rather than in a mist. This has been even more useful when I air fry my meals. You don’t use too much oil and it looks pretty on your countertop.

Manual Food Processor/Chopper
How did I go without it for two decades of cooking?;-). A few years ago I was in India and mom was using this and it blew my mind away. It was so easy to chop 40 cloves of garlic, a small onion, tomato which is pretty much the base of Indian cooking. I LOVE This. I have two sizes, the small is great for chopping garlic, ginger, onion. The large one is great for chopping larger portions of onion, tomatoes, veggies. You can rice your cauliflower, broccoli, anything in it. For the price, I’d say this is a MUST have in your kitchen. I even add everything in it for my omelette and whip, so easy and it gets incorporated well. Raita…, make your raita in this. GET IT!!!!

Stainless Steel Scraper
Hear me out on this. Great for baking, great when you are making dough. What I use it the most is for scooping my chopped veggies and to add it to the pan. This is another thing that I get asked on Instagram. I use this to add veggies or meat to a pan without touching it. Makes life a tad bit easier and fancier while you are cooking.

Glass Storage Food Containers
Being an Indian, it’s typical to use plastic containers we get from restaurants, steel boxes or even wrap a plastic wrap over a bowl for leftovers. When we started becoming more conscious, I started thinking different. Then came the glass containers in my life. Now I even take these to restaurant to get food to go. It’s thick, it’s sturdy., don’t seem overly heavy, have lids that fit both the plastic and glass versions, and they look nice enough to use as serving dishes. The only part that is at all negative is having to clean the crevices from the lids, but it is worth having a great seal that has never leaked on me and handles that open up to allow steam to escape. I use that feature more than I expected to. Even with the hefty price tag, I treat it like an investment as these should last a very long time!

Tumbler and Rocks Glass Set
I thought hard if I had to put this in this list. Here it is. This is a conversation starter. My friends call it the “drunken glasses”. I got these many years ago and I’m on set number 2 and I know few of you have bought if after my suggestion.

Coffee Grinder
If you are a coffee lover like we are, this is a must have. After a lot of research my husband decided to get this. High quality, consistent grind. The brewing methods my husband uses most hover around the medium grind range. I love the fine grind and my husband, the medium, love that we have an option. It grinds beautifully and consistently.
The beans feed very well, even for single dosing.
The ability to clean the grinder is taken into account in the construction. No need to delicately deconstruct the whole thing and keep track of a bunch of itty bitty screws and springs. The top part of the grinder and the top burr simply turn-and-lift out, and then turn-and-lock back into place. So nice. It’s aesthetically pleasing and takes up little room on the counter. All the materials have a quality feel. The price for this level of quality is unbeatable.

3 Piece Cast Iron Skillet
Everyone needs a cast iron pan. This is the cheapest set like this that I could find. Season them, never use soap and you are good to go. I grew up with cast iron skillets, before Teflon! I use them for everything from scrambled eggs to skillet dinners. Very easy to clean if you follow the instructions, which I recommend you read. Three skillets for this price, awesome!

Rapid Boil Electric Kettle
This is the kettle you want to own. I replaced my old fully glass one with this and it’s been more than six years, going strong. It’s perfect for heating water for coffee, tea and much much more. The best thing I like about it is that when the water is boiling, the unit turns itself off and prevents damage or fire. It also heats very fast and can be used in a kitchen, office, basement or more. Plus, if one has a problem with lime in the water, a small amount of vinegar boiled in the pot will quickly take care of the problem, making the pot look look new. The fact that the pot sits on the electric base and detaches from it for pouring, makes it very easy to use and to clean.

Electric Automatic Can Opener
This is another product my husband nagged me into buying. And I got it and wondered why I didn’t get it earlier. I’ve had manual openers and dreaded using them, sharp edges being the worst. There are no sharp edges to contend with here, and I have not found a can it will not open yet. It really is very simple to place a can in so.

Flexible Cutting Board Mats
Easy to use. Easy to clean. Easy to carry for a picnic too. I use these mostly for meat. I get many of these to give my family back in India and they love it. The flexible part is super convenient. These are thicker and sturdier. I love my wooden cutting board, but when I’m in a rush, these are the best and the clean up is easy. In today’s day when bacteria and insects can be all over the place I would get everything disinfected and cleaned prior to working with food. So this is great.
